Hi Mearle,
I came across your website and just wanted to say that you do terrific work. All of the aspects from lighting to close ups to posing your models, etc. is great work. I am an amateur photographer that is very enthusiastic about photography. I went to Cornish for music but took a couple of photography classes and was hooked. But back then it was all on film in a dark room (mostly black and white). I have since purchased a Canon digital SLR camera and other items like telephoto lens, speedlite etc. but have mostly done photos of places and things and not so much people other then candid (non-posed).
I have always had a desire to do photo shoots with models but am not sure where to start. I am really drawn to fine art photos of women outdoors in black and white and think I have some good ideas of places and themes to shoot. But I am not sure how to find legit models (or even amateurs but open to being creative) whom would be willing to work with and experimental artist. And beyond that, having not been on a professional shoot I would be new at it but I feel pretty confident i would do well.
And don’t get me wrong, I am very thoughtful and thorough and also would be very respectful and conscious of any models time, boundaries, etc..
So sorry for the long e-mail but would you have any advice on finding a model comfortable working with a creative and respectful amateur. And any advice otherwise.
Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom.
Kevin
